A chat with our Floriday implementation consultants

Our implementation consultants used to spend a lot of time on the road. They visited growers throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany to demonstrate the possibilities offered by Floriday and to provide a little help getting started. We talked to Laura, Robbert and Joery about the new approach, the online sessions and the changes. Want to know more? Read more!

Diede: What has been your experience of giving webinars to growers in the current situation?Laura: We have noticed that giving webinars instead of on-site workshops has its advantages. We can reach more people at once and it saves travel time, both for us and for the grower. We miss the personal contact we have during workshops, of course, but the pandemic it has taught us that online webinars are certainly a good tool to help get growers started using Floriday.

Diede: What changes have you had to make?
Robbert: The biggest change has obviously been that we have changed our face-to-face meetings at the nurseries into online meetings. We now not only give webinars, but also speak to growers one-on-one using Teams. In addition, we had to move all our webinar supplies (additional screens, special software, etc.) from the office to our home offices. We are also constantly adapting. After each webinar, a survey is sent out and we use the feedback to further improve our webinars.

Diede: Are any questions being asked more frequently during this corona period? If so, which ones?
Joery: We haven’t heard any specific new questions during the corona period. We did notice less interest in our webinars during the first weeks of the corona outbreak. Since the world was effectively turned upside down, this was completely understandable. Over the last few weeks, we have seen the numbers grow again each week!

Diede: How can growers learn to work with Floriday swiftly and effectively?
Laura: The best way of learning how to use Floriday is to start by watching a webinar. You can follow them live (every Wednesday between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.) or at any later time. Then there is the old saying, practice makes perfect. As soon as you start working with it, you will notice how easy it is to pick up. The webinars are all available to watch on our YouTube channel, so you can watch them as many times as you want, at your leisure. If you have questions, don’t stop working with Floriday, simply call the Floriday Support department. We will be happy to help.

Diede: How do I, as a grower, stay informed about new developments concerning the platform after the webinar?
Robbert: We keep growers informed of developments within the Floriday environment in a number of ways. You can sign up to the newsletter, for instance. On the platform itself, we share an overview of what we are working on and what is still planned in the road map. You will also receive regular notifications through the support chat about new functionalities and tips for working more effectively!

Diede: How can I continue to train myself in using Floriday?
Joery: Floriday is a platform under constant development; major or minor adjustments are made every week. So, it’s important to stay up to date. You can do so by subscribing to the newsletter, watching the videos on YouTube, following us on social media and perhaps following a webinar or workshop every few months. And obviously, it’s important to contact Floriday Support immediately if you have any questions.

Diede: What is the best tip that you can give growers?
Laura: Very simply: just do it! We are well aware that change is difficult and it may take some getting used to, but starting with Floriday now is really the best tip we can give. Give yourself time. Try to pick it up functionality by functionality and make use of the support tools available if you can't figure it out! Floriday is the future. By starting now, you will be able to work 100% digitally without any problems by the end of 2020!

Diede: What are your plans for the coming months?
Robbert: The next few months will be all about scaling up. It is very important that not only growers work in Floriday, but also customers. So, we will continue with the webinars and, as soon as permitted, we will also organise workshops at nurseries. In addition, we are going to start with customer-grower sessions, similar to those that were held at Waterdrinker. The focus is on the functionalities of the platform, but both parties also gain a better insight into the challenges that the other faces. Through better mutual understanding, growers and trade will be better able to help each other.
