In the past week, we organised various sessions about 100% Digital for Dutch Flower Group members. Despite the Corona crisis, Dutch Flower Group wants to take the next step in the digitization of the sector and that is why the preparations for 100% Digital continue. Read here why the Dutch Flower Group continues with these preparations.

These sessions were held as online webinars, which proved to be a good solution. Michel van Hout, CIO of the Dutch Flower Group, opened the session with a statement:

“You may be wondering why we continue to pursue the long-term goal of 100% Digital whilst everyone is dealing with other issues due to the corona crisis. There is only one way to emerge stronger from these bizarre times: by taking a different approach. The easier the digital organisation of processes becomes, the more efficient business will be. Furthermore, our industry cannot fall behind when it comes to digitisation, because competitors are lurking to take over the industry.”

Michel van Hout

The Dutch Flower Group’s vision is clear and closely matches 100% Digital.

Martin de Ruiter, 100% Digital project leader at Royal FloraHolland, echoed Michel van Hout’s opening and elaborated on the importance of 100% Digital to the floriculture industry. With Royal FloraHolland, we already had the dream to make the digitisation move, but the process has been accelerated due to tightened European legislation obliging us to conduct business digitally by the end of 2020. 100% Digital will allow buyers to conduct business with growers more easily and efficiently, but personal contact with growers (by telephone, for example) will continue to take place. However, this does require a completely different approach for both buyers and growers. Floriday is happy to help in this respect.

Robert Land, Blueroots’ implementation specialist, continued with a presentation of various scenarios for buyers. The scenarios show the ways in which buyers work and how they can ensure that their processes meet the requirements of 100% Digital business. The scenarios were demonstrated through a sneak preview of the new Floriday features that buyers will soon be able to use.

Interaction was also encouraged during the online sessions. Attendees expressed their expectations and concerns about 100% Digital and posed questions. The Dutch Flower Group members present agreed that if everything is processed through Floriday and meets the requirements of 100% Digital, it will generate real-time information and full data traceability. The positive results will be error reduction and increased efficiency. In all, it will help keep Dutch Flower Group a step ahead of competitors. People also had concerns: growers must make sure that all of their supply is listed correctly online so that online orders can be placed in the right way. Floriday supports growers by helping them as much as possible through workshops and online consultations.
