5 questions for Floriday developer Marc

  1. How did you end up at Floriday and how long have you been working on Floriday?
The attraction of the auction, where friends and family work or trade, and the complexity of building a trading platform were decisive factors for me when it came to tackling this job. That was a year ago. Since then as a developer I have worked primarily on the supply side of Floriday.
  2. How do you work as a team?
We work according to the philosophy 'you built it, you run it'. As a team, we are therefore responsible for the construction, marketing and day-to-day operation of the platform. This enables us to quickly implement changes and to be closely involved with the end result. Another important core value in our development process is 'design for failure'. Errors in software are unavoidable, even with extensive testing. That is why we focus on being able to detect and solve problems quickly. We often resolve issues behind the scenes without buyers or growers even noticing.
  3. How do you feel about working as a team in this way?
Everyone in our team works according to the aforementioned philosophy and is equally involved in the development of the product. That makes the team close-knit and pleasant to work in.
  4. What part of Floriday are you currently working on?
We are currently working on 'types', selling one end product from several stocks. For example, this could be a mixed bouquet of tulips for which the flowers come from different batches. Or an orchid in a beautiful pot, where both the plant grower and the pot producer can keep track of stock or availability. This feature will help growers keep track of their stock.
  5. What do you like most about Floriday?
As a techie, the large volume of trade and the corresponding transactions on Floriday are a great challenge. I also enjoy being part of a team that's building a platform that will help the sector remain the largest in the world in the years to come.
