Blog: Floriday and ERP (I)

As a grower, you may wonder about Floriday’s added value. After all, your business is well automated with its own grower’s system or ERP system.

In this first blog, we will discuss in more detail what ERP systems are and which business functions these systems support. In a subsequent blog, we will discuss the advantages of combining an ERP system and Floriday.

For which business functions do you, as a grower, require a solution?

  • Production (growing). This includes aspects such as planning of space, work, materials and machines; directing the internal logistics and container systems; harvesting; sorting; etc.
  • Inventory. For example: planning, management, allocation, etc.
  • Sales. For example: customer communication; pricing and price differentiation; allocation to sales systems; trade instruments; profit; etc.
  • Order processing. Order matching; acceptance; logistics (fulfillment) management; etc.
  • Financial administration. For example: the general ledger, cash management, consolidation, budgeting, cost prices, etc.
  • HR. For example: staff management, schedule planning, salary processing, pensions, entering or leaving service, etc.

 

What does an ERP system support?

An ERP system supports important processes at the nursery, from financial administration to growth planning, and from purchasing to payroll. Most ERP systems also offer connections with buyers so that the processing of supply, orders and deliveries can be computerized.

Maybe now you think that all ERP software suppliers support these functions, and that they all support them in the same way. That is certainly not the case. You will find extra information is this overview.
