Floriday Ideation

During the Aalsmeer Trade Fair, the first growers signed up to start with Floriday. A number of them mentioned that they would like to contribute to developing Floriday. We can make good use of this feedback to ensure that the features closely match the needs of the growers. This is why we started Floriday Ideation.

How does it work?

We have started with five topics for growers to consider. We will meet three growers per topic to zoom in on this subject. In the course of several discussions, these three growers can provide us with feedback.

This process will take the following form:

Mock-up discussion

Using a wireframe/mock-up, we will provide a presentation of the concept solution that we have in mind. This will serve as a rough discussion point. Feedback will be collected and discussed. Modifications will be shared digitally so that they can be viewed at leisure on location and possibly generate additional feedback.

Working prototype discussion

Three or four weeks later, the results of the mock-up and the feedback will be shown using a working prototype. This will increase the visibility of the application flow, and further testing can take place by the relevant growers based on a case. This session will end by summing up the feedback.

Launching user release

As soon as a version is ready for the first users, it will be made available only to the Theme members. These users can easily report bugs and indicate how satisfied they are. We will visit the three users to see how they use the module.

After the final phase, the time will come for public release, which means that the new feature will go live for all Floriday users.

The topics

We are starting with five topics. The first two topics to be discussed are price calculations and consignment sales. Soon after, we will continue with the photo app for lots, article composition and labelling. Further explanation of the topics can be found below.

Price calculation
Prices and availability often differ per buyer. Growers currently devote considerable time to completing the weekly and periodic lists. A handy tool allows the grouping of customers on the basis of which smart calculations can be made. Keeping track of reliable supply is consequently far less time-consuming.

Labelling

Despite the fact that label notification has already been in use for some time, a large proportion of growers and buyers are unable to distribute the labels efficiently. Which tools are required to tackle this task efficiently?

Apart from the tools to enable labelling, there is also an important discussion about label formats. Not all buyers use the same formats, so growers have to stock several types of rolls.

Photo app for lots

It is becoming increasingly important to have high-quality, real-time visual material. In particular, with the future introduction of image auctioning, it is important for buyers to receive photos that clearly show what the products look like. That is why we are developing a Floriday photo app to photograph the lots.

External stock
More and more alternative marketing methods are emerging, partly because of a decline in the number of products sold on the auction clock, and partly because the sales market is changing. One problem for the sector is the ever decreasing order size. One solution that several buyers would like to test is the 'sale from external stock' option. This enables growers to make their stock available from another location.

Article composition

Growers with products in different colors often offer their products as a color mix. Creating each (mix) article in advance, in the expectation that the buyer may possibly choose it, is a time-consuming job. If we make sure buyers can request a new article themselves based on the grower's products, we can save a lot of unnecessary work.
