In recent weeks, we have introduced several growers to two new features within Floriday: taking pictures easily with the photo function and establishing price groups. By testing these features, we can assess whether the features are working properly and are easy to use.
Photos with photo function displayed on the clock
The photo function has been tested by a number of growers, and the first photos have already been displayed on the auction clock. For growers, the photo function saves a lot of time, especially if you do not have a photo studio. You scan the QR code on the EAB/delivery note and take a picture of the flowers or plants with your smartphone camera. This photo is then automatically added to the electronic delivery note and displayed on the clock screen.
Setting up price groups
By setting up price groups, you can quickly establish different prices for different groups of buyers. In a price group, you can easily set discounts or mark-ups that are calculated on a basic price and that apply to all buyers who have been added to this price group. In this way, you as a grower can easily implement an optimal pricing strategy for all your buyers.
At this stage, we are using the price groups to fill the weekly lists of buyers. We are trying out this feature with J&P ten Have, Dracaenakwekerij De Plaats, Bromelia Specialist and Orchios. This will be extended in the week ahead.
The initial results have been positive. It is nice to see that the feature fits in well with the growers' sales strategy. On average, we come across three calculated price groups with which we can fill between 50 and 100 weekly lists on FloraXchange. That saves a lot of work because only one price has to be entered per article.
Thanks to these growers, we have been able to improve the feature at an early stage. This has made it possible to:
- bring forward the prices entered the previous week;
- adjust prices for all items by an absolute or relative amount (for example, you can quickly add or subtract € 0.10 from a selection of articles)
In addition, several bugs have been fixed.
In the weeks ahead, we will further validate the feature with various growers. Once the feature has been sufficiently validated, it will be rolled out among a larger group of growers.
