The first Cooperative Day took place on Thursday, December 12 for members, customers and partners of Royal FloraHolland. On the day, visitors took a look at the prosperous future of the sector.

Links between packages and Floriday have been created in conjunction with the various software suppliers. The first software supplier, FreshPortal, has recently been connected, with the first growers already successfully using the link.

All transactions at the Royal FloraHolland marketplace will only be concluded digitally by the end of 2020. This is also known as '100% digital'. By doing so, as sector we are taking the next step in the digital transformation of the floriculture industry.

We've been working on new features this summer. They're now available on Floriday! Here's a short introduction to what's on offer.

On 21, 22 and 23 August our Floriday experts were at our Plantarium fair stand in Hazerswoude-Dorp along with the experts from FloraXchange.

The product photos that growers send to the auction are shown on the clock during the auction. The photos must provide the buyers with a realistic picture of the lot supplied. Waterdrinker emphasizes the importance of sending current product photos too. In the past, it has sometimes happened that the purchased products looked different in reality. As a result, customers complained.

On 30 October 2018, during a festive award show in the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht, Gerhard van der Bijl of Royal FloraHolland won the Computable Award CxO of the Year. Floriday achieved a great second place in the category ICT Project of the Year. According to the jury, Gerhard owes his nomination to the redesign of the IT organization in a short period of time.

Royal FloraHolland will organize the Trade Fair Aalsmeer from Wednesday 7 November through Friday 9 November 2018. As a grower, you may wonder about Floriday’s added value. After all, your business is well automated with its own grower’s system or ERP system. ERP systems usually provide only limited support for commercial processes. In fact, this is something Floriday pays a lot of attention to!

Floriday Insights will become the new tool for calling up real-time clock prices and will replace the current FloraneXt. Floriday Insights is very user-friendly and handles well on smartphones and tablets. This new tool can soon be launched from the Floriday Dashboard, so that there is the best possible link between the Floriday Platform and the new price-information tool.

In the interview with the trade magazine Vakblad voor de Bloemisterij, Royal FloraHolland CEO, Steven van Schilfgaarde, indicated that he wanted to strengthen the floriculture industry by working together. He therefore welcomes the statements by Dutch Flower Group CEO, Marco van Zijverden, about the importance of the collaboration between Floriday and Blueroots platforms.

During the summer weeks, the first growers were introduced to a new function within Floriday: the price groups. Many plant growers are currently spending a great deal of time filling in weekly lists for customers and keeping them up to date. This is a time-consuming weekly chore. Using price groups will save you so much time!

As a grower, you may wonder about Floriday’s added value. After all, your business is well automated with its own grower’s system or ERP system. In this first blog, we will discuss in more detail what ERP systems are and which business functions these systems support. In a subsequent blog, we will discuss the advantages of combining an ERP system and Floriday.

ICT magazine Computable has nominated Floriday for the Computable Awards 2018. The jury praises Royal FloraHolland for its application of new technology and modern architectural principles. The jury considers making strategic choices and implementing the fundamental changes to be essential for this type of digital transformation.

A strategic meeting was organized on 7 June for a number of interested flower growers from different product groups. Royal FloraHolland Chief Digital Officer, Gerhard van der Bijl, and Floriday Product Owner, Raymond van Sassen, guided the flower growers through all the aspects that are required for developing a platform.

In recent weeks, we have introduced several growers to two new features within Floriday: taking pictures easily with the photo function and establishing price groups. By testing these features, we can assess whether the features are working properly and are easy to use.

We are developing Floriday together with the growers through Ideation sessions. We meet with the growers for a morning or afternoon to exchange ideas about the different functionalities to be implemented in Floriday. Last month several Ideation sessions were organised.

Rene Eikelenboom is co-owner of Arcadia. He is responsible for selling the 50 million stems of disbudded chrysanthemums that are produced each year. At Arcadia 100 people work on five cultivation locations. Arcadia is part of Decorum - a joint venture of 60 growers.

Because we are regularly asked about our progress, we shall answer several frequently asked questions.

In the latest issue of Grow (Royal FloraHolland's customer magazine), FloraXchange product developer, Jefry van den Hoeven, talks about Floriday. "Ultimately, we want all growers on Floriday to have a smile on their face because their daily work is being taken care of."

In the past few weeks, more flower growers have signed up to Floriday. Thus, Floriday is taking the next step as the long awaited platform for flower and plant growers. The test growers, including those associated with Decorum, can now enter their flower supply on Floriday and make it immediately available to the sales channels, including their own webshop.

During the Aalsmeer Trade Fair, the first growers signed up to start with Floriday. A number of them mentioned that they would like to contribute to developing Floriday. We can make good use of this feedback to ensure that the features closely match the needs of the growers. This is why we started Floriday Ideation.

On Wednesday 7 November, Royal FloraHolland and FloraXchange presented the first version of Floriday at the Trade Fair in Aalsmeer. Floriday is the global digital platform for the floriculture industry. The platform enables growers to be active on multiple trade channels and markets at the same time.

IIt is becoming increasingly important to have high-quality, real-time visual material. In particular, with the future introduction of image auctioning, it is important for buyers to receive photos that clearly show what the products look like.
